The Holland Tunnel backs up badly on weekday mornings and again from late afternoon into the evening, and the tolls add up if you cross often. Locals drive everywhere except into Manhattan at rush hour; for those trips, park near a PATH station and take the train in, then keep the car for everything the PATH cannot reach.
Street parking downtown is mostly permit zones and hard to find after work hours. Skip the circling and use the garages around Exchange Place, Newport, or the PATH stations. Rates run well under Manhattan prices, and from any of them you are a short walk to the waterfront.
Sandy Hook is roughly 80 miles round trip and Asbury Park about 110, so a full beach day fits inside the included 300 miles with room to spare. Leave before 8 on summer Saturdays; the Parkway south is a wall by mid morning, and your toll pass quietly covers every gantry along the way.

Jersey City throws its big free festival on the waterfront with stages all afternoon and fireworks over the Hudson at night, tens of thousands strong. Driving into downtown that evening is a mistake; park by early afternoon or watch from Liberty State Park's northern edge.
Newark Avenue's pedestrian plaza and the blocks around Grove Street host close to 300 vendors, beer gardens, and stages one Saturday each September. The neighborhood garages absorb the crowd better than you would expect; come by 11 before the plaza gets shoulder to shoulder.

The minimum rental age is 21 with a valid driver's license. Drivers between 21 and 24 can still rent but will see a $30/day young driver surcharge added to their booking. We accept both domestic and international driver's licenses.
Every Tesla rental includes 300 free miles per day. Additional miles are billed at $0.85 per mile at the end of your trip. For subscribers, monthly plans include 1,000 miles per month with upgrades available up to 3,000 miles per month. Extra subscriber miles are $0.50 per mile.
We offer both refundable and non-refundable cancellation policies.
For subscriptions, cancellation notice is required. Monthly and 6-month plans require 15 days’ notice, while weekly plans require 7 days’ notice.
